Youth Squad (2025) » Spinnaker and Trapeze Training Cancelled

26th May, 2:00pm - 7:30pm

Spinnaker and Trapeze Training

CANCELLED DUE TO STRONG WINDS

Monday 26th May.  14:00 - 19:30.

There is no cost for this session, but please do fill in the online booking form to secure your place.

There will be land based training (rigging and trapezing and a small amount of theory) then on the water practice. The session will be videoed and a video with commentary will be shared after the event

We need a minimum of 4 people and the maximum is 6 on any day. Helms need to be able to confidently sail to Greysands or Inner Pulley (so we have space to train)

Please bring with you:

  • a trapeze harness (if you have one) as you will be more comfortable in your own kit.
  • sailing kit - sailing gloves are particularly important
  • a note book
  • snacks and water
  • suntan lotion

Please make sure that you have joined the NDYC Youth Squad WhatsApp group for any updates or last minute information - email youth@ndyc.org to be added

Please note that the club have updated their policies, including parental supervision - see https://ndyc.org/club/policies. Please make sure you and your young sailor have read the policies before the Youth Squad session, filled in the Parental Consent form where appropriate, and uploaded it to the qualifications section of your young sailor's NDYC account.  As with other Youth Squad sessions, parents are required to stay onsite during the session unless their child is over 14 and the parent has uploaded a completed Parental Consent form (to the child's NDYC account).
