New Members

Firstly a warm welcome to the club. We hope you will enjoy sailing at NDYC. If you have a question on any aspect of membership, please email Heather Harris nmo@ndyc.org. Heather can provide information and contacts for dinghy sailing, cruising or motor boating, with information on courses, recreational sailing, racing, club information and how to get more involved in Club activities.

Dinghy Sailing

The club offers sailing to cover a wide variety of skill and performance levels. If you don't yet own a boat but are keen to sail we can help: we have a range of club boats (single handed Lasers, Argos, Bahias, Fevas and Picos) which can be used by RYA qualified members. (link to club boat information - how to book)

Experienced Dinghy Sailors

We race every weekend and sometimes mid-week through the season, with handicap races for both the fast and slow fleets. In this way we are able to offer competitive racing to all regardless of the class of boat you sail. For the 2023 season we will also be offering Just Sail recreational sailing sessions in a designated area with safety boat cover.

Contact the relevant fleet captain (listed below) for racing or Heather Harris on

New / Still Learning Dinghy Sailors

If you are a recently qualified sailor, or new to estuary sailing, the club hosts Follow on Sailing Sessions to support you as you practice your sailing skills. It is also useful for orientation on sailing in the estuary even if you are an experienced sailor. Club boats are available to members for these sessions.

If you are uncertain about whether to take up sailing, there is a chance to give it a try and go out on a boat with experienced club members, at the club Open Day on 6th June or you can book onto one of our RYA accredited courses

For those interested in taking up sailing for the first time or further developing skills, the club is an RYA Recognised Teaching Establishment and we run Training Courses for Youth and Adult members https://ndyc.org/page/training-1
