Laying Up Supper Pickle Night Celebration
Pickle Night is celebrated around the Globe, on or around the 6th November, from church halls in Australia to the most prestigious of dinners at the New York Yacht Club, and in warrant and chief petty officers' messes throughout the Royal Navy. HMS Pickle was the ship that brought home the news of victory at the Battle of Trafalgar and the death of Lord Nelson in 1805. The rough passage undertaken by HMS Pickle rather put us in mind of a lot of this year's Summer season, so we thought why not combine our laying up supper with a few Pickle Night traditions!
Pickle night has never been about crisp white table clothes and silent toasts, so we'll be putting on long tables, wintery sharing food and live music for the occasion. Expect a hearty stew, crusty bread and something equally hearty for dessert.
This will be a pre-book event open to all members and guests to celebrate our cruisers, numbers will be limited!
£15 a head for 2 courses.
