Round Lundy Rally

The rally is open to all types of sailing boats capable of making an offshore passage in strong tidal waters however all entrants must have a current RYA YTC handicap cerificate for their boat.  You can get a certificate for free by going to the following website:  www.rorcrating.com/ryatc/

Lundy Race - Ilfracombe Yacht Club (IYC) have been running this popular race since 2005. Yachts from all around the Bristol channel take part, from large racing yachts with crews as many as 9 to cruising yachts as small as 22ft and some single handed. In 2024 twenty four boats entered. There is a BBQ on the Saturday after racing with prize giving and live music.

The race is held over one-day with the successful competitors covering approximately 45 miles. Traditionally, the event attracts a great number of entries with the Trafalgar trophy being awarded to the overall winner. There are also trophies for successful individual classes. Be sure to apply for your free RYA YTC handicap well in advance and possibly before you launch for the season - it is easier to measure your sails before you put them on for the season.
