Cruising in Company - Lundy - Lundy Air Day

Lundy Air Day On the 4th and (mainly) 5th July there will be a vast array of small aircraft landing on the islands small grass runway. Some come in and after a walk and meal in the pub fly away again, others stay for the Saturday night, either way it is an incredible spectacle with continuous take off and landings throughout Saturday and Sunday. Note - take a screenshot (or printout) of your NDYC membership card so that you can show them if asked on the island or you will be charged the per person landing fee. 

Note 2 - If you want to do a few more miles, this is also the weekend of a festival in Saundersfoot and a festival in Porlock Weir so plenty of options.

Cruising In Company is the NDYC program of trips that will try to get a convoy of boats out together to head to events in the Bristol Channel enjoying our hobby as a community. Every trip is open to anyone with a boat and skills that enable them to get to the destination (and back!) safely and is perfect for those who would prefer to follow a friend into an unfamiliar port. If you do not have a boat but would like to come as crew, the best place to look for this is on our WhatsApp community where hopefully a space can be found. Small print - These trips are done on your own boats, with your own insurance and at your own risk - it is for the participants to decide whether the trip is suitable for their craft and experience.

As with all things cruising, the weather has to play ball, we have sought locations where you will see local celebrations, small airplanes and fireworks but if the weather is not suitable for the destination, we will look to find an alternative option that is. Keeping up to date with events as they progress and the weather unfolds is also best done on our WhatsApp community.
