Roadmap for club activities

This is great news that we will be gradually returning to full and active events schedule this year as restrictions permit and should be able to offer much more to members as we emerge from the restrictions due to Covid-19. You will be aware of the PM’s announcement and subsequent roadmap set out by the Government for easing restrictions that can be found here.  The RYA have produced a useful summary that can be found here. What this means for NDYC is:

Between now and the 29th March:

  • The boat park remains open for essential maintenance
  • The guidance is to stay home
  • People will be allowed to leave home for recreation and exercise outdoors with their household or support bubble, if they are eligible for one, or with one person from outside their household.
  • No organised sailing activities and the slipway remains closed.

Not before Monday 29th March

  • Organised sailing and racing can commence. People may sail with a crew from another household (provided the do a personal risk assessment and agree it is appropriate to do so).
  • Covid secure training may take place – no indoor training
  • People will be able to meet outside in groups up to a maximum of 6 people (the Rule of 6) or with one other household, though people from different households will still need to socially distance from each other. This will apply in all outdoor settings, including private gardens.
  • Safety Boats can be operated with one crew in limited conditions – or two crew from different households provided personal risk assessments are done.
  • Signing on will be done remotely
  • Race briefings may happen on-line where appropriate

Not before 12th April

  • Outdoor hospitality permitted rule of 6 and social distancing – The House Committee will publicise plans to re-open the clubhouse in due course but given the restrictions and requirements of table service only, social distancing and the limited space on the balcony, it is likely that the clubhouse will not reopen until 17th May onwards and in line with government guidelines
  • Changing rooms may open

Not before 17th May

  • All national open events permitted
  • Max 30 people outdoors, rule of 6 indoors.
  • Indoor hospitality permitted (rule of 6 or 2 households).
  • Outdoor hospitality (max 30)

Not before 21st June:

  • All national open events permitted
  • No restrictions shore side on numbers and mixing
  • Hospitality fully open

Please remain careful and cautious and if you have any Covid-19 specific questions please contact .
