DESCRIPTION:The idea is to have fun and to develop their interest in sa
iling. We will also look at guiding your child into racing, however, ou
r main focus will be on enjoying themselves and building confidence on
the water. In our experience not everyone enjoys sailing alone, so we w
ill try to cater for that as well.We do require a minimum ability of Yo
uth Sailing Scheme Stage 3 in order to participate in the Youth Squad.
If you are not yet Stage 3, please look to Young Pirates. More details
will be available there in due course. We have a number of planned saili
ng sessions and may do more on/off water events depending on take up. T
ypically, they would last no longer than 90 minutes on the water with c
hanging/rigging time either side. Club boats will be provided (Picos, F
evas [double handed] Lasers and Catamarans). The sessions will be led by
our Race Coaches or Instructors who are keen to support the Youth Squa
d in this social/leisure sailing capacity. We would like to highlight th
at for all sessions, a parent/carer must remain on site for the duratio
n and take responsibility for their child.Places are currently limited,
and staffed according to need. If you find that you are no longer able
to attend a booked session, please advise us ASAP so that your place c
an be reallocated. We look forward to sailing with you! For more informa
