Scoring:

RSS Para 6A – default points for not finishing for any reason = number of boats in race +1 except Did not compete (DNC) = Number of boats in Series +1

Duty points – You must sign on as duty and then you will be awarded YOUR average points. Enter in Halsail as RTG. Please only request average points if you are racing one other day.

RTG means Av excluding DNC. Average points for all races excluding DNC results, but including excluded races (discards). The boat gets the mean of the points it got in all other races in the series, excluding points for DNC up to the maximum number of races it is allowed to exclude (discard). If it has more DNC results than it can exclude, the excess will be included in the mean

Starting from the quay

The quay will have 2 options for starting. Option 1 is use of flags and option 2 is the race timer box. Ideally the flags are first choice and timer box will be available as well as a back up.

The following flag sequence is to be used:

10 minutes orange flag raised to define start line – no sound signal

5 minutes Class flag – ideally IC M but not essential – one horn

4 minutes IC P – preparatory signal – one horn

1 minute IC P – preparatory flag removed

GO! All flags down

Anyone over the line – IC Flax X for 4 minutes or until all boats return to restart correctly.

General Recall – if boats over the line cannot be identified a General Recall may be used with flag First Sub flown and patrol boats sent to ask boats to return.

6 minutes Re-start after General Recall / abandoned race/ or delayed start – remove General Recall flag or Answering Pennant (delay)

5 minutes Class flag – ideally IC M but not essential – one horn

4 minutes IC P – preparatory signal – one horn

1 minute IC P – preparatory flag removed

GO! All flags down
